Currently, in addition to “Soup Stock Tokyo”, we are developing a necktie brand “giraffe”, New Cycle Commons “PASS THE BATON”, a family restaurant “100 Spoons”, and a seaweed valve specialty store “Hakejoyu Nori Bensannobori ”. After working as a curator at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and Contemporary Art Centre, Art Tower Mito, he became the director of ANB Tokyo and established NYAW Inc. Major exhibitions include ‘Hello World-for the Post-Human Age’ and ‘Resistance of Fog|Fujiko Nakaya’ (Art Tower Mito) and ‘The world began without the human race and it will end without it.’ (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts). In addition to planning and consulting on culture/art-related projects such as the art festival ‘Meet Your Art Festival “NEW SOIL”‘ organized by avex, Music Loves Art in Summer Sonic and the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Economy Strategy Promotion Project, he also supervises art programmes and features in magazines and on TV. Graduated from the Department of Fine Art, University of Reading in 1991, and completed his postgraduate study with a mark of distinction from the Slade School of Fine Art, University College of London in 1995. He currently serves as an associate professor in the Department of Fine Arts of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His works in various media, and is notable for his photography, installation and environmental art. His works have been exhibited in the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

The 1st “ARTabi2023 International Contemporary Art Award ” will be held during Shinshu “Tatsuno Firefly Festival” which held every June in Tatsuno Town. This is a valuable opportunity to liven up Tatsuno firsfly festival with ARTabi event sharing with the world draws diverse attractions. Many Genji fireflies fly around during the festival, and many people visit our town. In order to liven up “Japan’s number one firefly village” and “Tatsuno Shinshu, middle of Japan,” collaborated with “ARTabi2023”. We are looking forward to receiving a large number of unique works.
